The final DLC for Dark Souls 3, and likely the final release in the entire series, has been officially announced by FromSoftware. The Ringed City will release on March 28th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
“Fear not the dark, ashen one. Journey to the world’s end to search for the Ringed City and encounter new lands, new bosses, new enemies with new armor, magic and items. Experience the epic final chapter of a dark world that could only be created by the mind of Hidetaka Miyazaki.”
This is it Soulsborne fans, this is most likely going to be the end of the Dark Souls series. Dark Souls 3’s first DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, was decent but was underwhelming in comparison to FromSoftware’s DLC in other games. FromSoftware promised that the second DLC would be much longer and I’ll be holding them to that.
FromSoftware’s games have always had quality bosses in their DLCs that have resulted in being many of the best bosses in the Soulsborne series. Artorias of the Abyss and Manus, Father of the Abyss were probably my two favorite bosses in Dark Souls and you don’t even have to get me started with Bloodborne. Ludwig the Accursed/Holy Blade, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower and Orphan of Kos are three of my absolute most favorite bosses in any of FromSoftware’s games. As great as the base game was, Dark Souls 3 is definitely lacking in the DLC department so here’s to hoping that The Ringed City is at least in the same zip code as The Old Hunters.
