Is there anyone out there that’s actually surprised by this?
It took long enough, but Rockstar Games has finally announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t be released this Fall. This hardly comes as a surprise. When Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced last year with a Fall 2017 release date, I never once believed that would happen and it feels like most people with a clue have come around to that idea. This was really just an inevitable delay that’s finally been made official. I’m still not convinced it’ll release in the Spring either. If Red Dead Redemption 2 drops before Fall 2018, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The big takeaway from Rockstar’s announcement though, is that they said Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch in Spring 2018 “on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.” There’s still no mention of a PC release. There’s really no excuse for Red Dead Redemption 2 to not release on PC, especially at launch. Why Rockstar continues to crap on the PC platform makes no sense to me. It’s still a joke that Red Dead Redemption has never been released on PC and it’ll be ridiculous if its sequel isn’t either.
Regardless, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for one of the most heavily anticipated titles in the history of gaming. Rockstar also noted that more details about the game will be released this summer, so we have that to look forward to.
