E3 rolls on.
Next on the list is E3’s annual bizarre segment. No doubt this press conference will include some kind of awkward as hell dance routines or something with an over the top dosing of Aisha Taylor’s miserable attempts at comedy. As it relates to the games though, Ubisoft’s got some cool things coming up here. I expect that we’ll get a good look at games like Far Cry 5 and South Park: The Fractured But Whole along with some other titles scattered in. For the first time in several years, I’m actually looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft has to show for Assassin’s Creed since based on yesterday’s first look, Origins looks pretty good.
Ubisoft’s press conference begins at 4 pm EST and you can watch it on Twitch (as well as various other sites). You can follow along with my own personal input here or you can check back after the press conference is over. Let’s just try to keep this one relatively normal.
5:10 – That’s it for Ubisoft. Really good press conference all around.
5:07 – Beyond Good & Evil 2, there’s a bit of a throwback.
5:02 – I really like the premise of Far Cry 5. I’m just hoping it’s not another low effort addition to the series.
4:52 – Starlink looks neat, but I’m not buying plastic toys to play video games.
4:49 – Oh god, South Park mobile game.
4:48 – Who the hell is Bebe Rexha?
4:46 – Welp, here comes the awkward dance routine right in the middle of Ubisoft’s gaming press conference.
4:46 – KRAKEN!
4:44 – So Skull and Bones is basically just a pirate version of World of Warships.
4:38 – You give me pirates, you get my attention.
4:34 – “How do we make VR look sketchy as hell?” -Ubisoft
4:32 – The Stick of Truth was really good, so I’m in on The Fractured But Whole.
4:29 – The Crew 2 isn’t nearly as interesting as Ubisoft’s next announcement, which has already leaked on Twitter.
4:24 – The Crew 2 does nothing for me but I dig the Inception-style trailer.
4:22 – Stunned we got through Assassin’s Creed without an Egyptian dance routine. Also stunned we really didn’t get much of anything for footage.
4:20 – They’re seriously showing this gameplay by physically recording a monitor over a live feed?
4:19 – Ancient Egypt is such a cool setting for Assassin’s Creed.
4:13 – This actually looks kinda decent, if we’re being honest.
4:11 – Mario x Rabbids x XCOM… I think I’m in.
4:05 – Mario and Rabbids is a pretty cool mix. But I’ve got a soft spot for franchise mash ups.
4:02 – I would not have put money on Miyamoto opening up this press conference.
4:01 – Apparently Aisha Taylor isn’t here. Press conference just got better instantly.
4:00 – Let’s get this show on the road.
3:30 – The press conference doesn’t start for another 30 minutes and I’m already dreading Aisha Taylor.
