Report: ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Won’t Be At San Diego Comic-Con

All eyes turn towards D23 Expo.

One of the more speculated questions in the last couple weeks has been whether we’ll see Star Wars: The Last Jedi at Disney’s annual D23 Expo or San Diego Comic-Con. Both events take place within the same week and it appears we now have our answer. According to the Unofficial SDCC Blog, The Last Jedi will not be featured in a major panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year. So if you’re looking for the next trailer for The Last Jedi, look no further than D23 Expo in two weeks.

Rey & Luke

D23 Expo is Disney’s big annual showcase so it’s not a surprise that they want The Last Jedi there. Another factor here is that many people, myself included, expected a first look at the upcoming Han Solo anthology film at D23 this year. With the film’s recent directorial snag, there’s no way that’s going to happen. So it wouldn’t surprise me if The Last Jedi was supposed to be featured on Comic-Con and was swapped out at the last minute so that Star Wars had something to show at D23.

If we are getting the next trailer for The Last Jedi, I expect that it’ll be revealed at The Walt Disney Studios Live Action Films segment of D23, which takes place from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Saturday, July 15. And if that’s the case, I’m going to be in the middle of the ocean when it drops and I am totally not freaking out about it.
