The latest entry in the Mass Effect series has released amidst a maelstrom of controversy, to say the least. Between the passion for the original trilogy, the toxicity bred from its disaster of a conclusion and the poor early impressions from EA Access trials: Mass Effect: Andromeda didn’t quite start on the right foot. But is it really that bad?

New IPs are tough to come by these days. Everyone just wants to make sequels to existing titles and rightly so; major series have large fanbases, are much more easily marketable and everyone wants to see the worlds they love continue to grow. But there’s a special little flare to new IPs and everybody loves when one sticks. I have a pretty good feeling that Sony’s newest exclusive IP, Horizon Zero Dawn, is going to stick because it is damn good.
As with any other year, 2017 means a brand new year for gaming. We’ve got a brand new console, a supped up console and some big name titles all due for release this year (as of right now). So let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated releases in 2017 as well as some things to look out for going into the year.
Playstation came out swinging today at their annual Playstation Experience showcase. While the showcase didn’t feature some games I was clinging to hope for, primarily Red Dead Redemption 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, there were some heavy hitters that absolutely pumped up the hype levels and got the juices flowing.
